Shred the Love

Equinox Broadcasting and GHS Federal Credit Union invite you to "Shred the Love" throughout the month of October! We're offering FREE community shred days throughout the area for you to take advantage of. While the shredding is free, we ARE asking for donations to go directly to the American Cancer Society though our Real Men Wear Pink campaign.

Saturday, October 1 - Arctic Bear Plumbing, Heating, Air & Water Treatment - 612 Vestal Pkwy W. Vestal, NY

Saturday October 15 - Matthews Chevrolet - 3733 Vestal Road, Vestal, NY

Saturday October 29 - GHS Federal Credit Union - 910 Front St. Binghamton

All Shred events take place from 8-11am

  • Driver Education for High School Students

    This Driver Education course is approved by the New York State Education Department. Successful completion of the class entitles you to receive an MV285. State regulations require that students fulfill the attendance requirement for this certificate or they will not be issued an MV285. Check with your own insurance company for benefits and incentives that they provide for students with the MV285 driver education certificate. Attendance at ALL classes is mandatory. One makeup session for an excused absence is allowed for an additional $25 fee. The date for this make-up session will be announced at a later date. To report an absence, please contact Continuing Education at 607-778-5012 the day of the absence. Student information will be emailed upon registration. In your packet is a parent permission agreement. This must be brought to the required parent/student meeting.. The dates and times for the mandatory parent/student information session are listed below. . Students must be 16 years of age and have their learner’s permit prior to the parent’s meeting. Register early to ensure your seat in the program. Refunds accepted until the day after the parent meeting.. MV285 Certificates will not be issued to students who fail to meet ALL course requirements. Behind the Wheel driving times are subject to change based on enrollment.   • SAT Test Prep

    Your score on the Scholastic Assessment Test is one of the most important factors determining admission to the college of your choice. This test preparation course, used by over 700 educational institutions nationwide, is designed to help maximize your score. It concentrates on the test-taking skills that are critical for good performance on the SAT. The course utilizes a proven, five-step approach to large score improvements – diagnostic test; verbal and math review; question-types and strategies; practice test reinforcement; and final test review. The course also focuses on time-saving methods, critical thinking skills, and mathematical problem solving abilities. Materials are provided by Cambridge Educational Services, the nation’s #1 campus-based test prep, and include textbooks and actual tests.   • Computers for Absolute Beginners

    Learn basic computer terms and the components of a computer system. Emphasis is placed on learning the functions of the keyboard, mouse, Windows. We will also cover the use of the Internet, and word processing using Microsoft Word. This course gives you the fundamentals to progress into other computer courses with comfort. Each person will have their own computer station. Students should bring a thumb drive to class if they wish to keep their work. This course will be held at the Hancock High School, 67 Education Lane in Hancock, NY 13783. Instructor: Robert Glydon
